How we can help
The Embassy is divided into different sections, each with its own role and areas of responsibility:
Trade & Investment Section (UKTI): The largest section within the Embassy, this reflects the strong commercial links between the UK and Venezuela. The section primarily deals with assisting UK companies that wish to trade with, or export to the Venezuelan market.
Consular & Visas Section: Offers advice, assistance and support to British nationals, whether they reside in Venezuela or are here just for a visit. Services include issuing passports, registering births and deaths, and assisting British nationals in trouble. The section is supported by a regional network of Honorary Consuls and local wardens. The section also issues visas to Venezuelan nationals (and foreign nationals in general) traveling to the UK or to any of the Overseas Territories.
Political Section: Maintains and aims to improve inter-governmental relations between the UK and Venezuela. The section maintains contacts with government ministers and departments, as well as with representatives from the political opposition. The section reports back to London on matters of political interest that occur in Venezuela.
Press & Public Affairs Section: Provides the Venezuelan media and public with information and news from the UK and informs on the progress and activities of the Embassy and matters of bilateral interest. The section is also responsible for maintaining/updating the Embassy’s website.
Co-operation Section: Manages a number of local and London-based project funds that are directed towards helping Venezuela improve its environmental awareness, respect for human rights, and other priority areas.
Defence Section: Provides advice and technical assistance to the Venezuelan armed forces, with whom the Defence Attaché maintains close links.
Management Section: Its role is to support all other sections of the Embassy in their day-to-day activities and to ensure that the Embassy runs smoothly. It is responsible for managing the Embassy’s resources.
